GROWING IN THE GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

And I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, ‘John baptised with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ Acts 11:16 (NASB)
As Peter was explaining the wonderful breaking out of the mission to the Gentiles, and how the Holy Spirit was poured out upon Cornelius’ household, he brings to mind what Jesus used to say (that is, said on several occasions): “you will be baptised with the Holy Spirit.”
As believers in Jesus, we receive the indwelling Holy Spirit, and are then to be baptised, that is immersed and submerged in and with the Spirit.
This baptism is not just a one-off experience, though it is experiential, but an entry and an enabling into the full realm of the life, activity, and purposes of the Holy Spirit.
We need to receive, unpack, practice, and grow in all the dimensions and expressions of the Spirit’s life and ministry. It was 40 years ago (October 1985) that I received this wonderful baptism in the Spirit, and I am still pressing into the growth of what He started and released in me in His gifts of tongues, healing, prophecy, and more; in dreams and visions; in a more dynamic prayer practice; and above all in a greater passion and love for Jesus!
We are putting together some fresh teaching on how you can develop in this which will be available soon in video and written forms, and for a small team of us to come to churches and places to run this as a short equipping course.
